Defining who we are is never easy. It feels more natural to tell you a little about the path that brought me here, to LATOT and to making art.

For more than twenty years, my professional life has been rooted in intellectual property. As a Turkish Patent and Trademark Attorney, my work has always revolved around protecting ideas, creativity, and the value people create. Today, I continue that journey as a co-founder of Starker IP. Art, however, has given me the opportunity to experience creativity from the other side: not as the person protecting what has been created, but as the one creating.

Perhaps that is why creativity has never felt entirely unfamiliar to me. While much of my professional life is dedicated to safeguarding the work of others, art has become a space where I can follow my own need to make, explore and express.
Art did not enter my life as a carefully planned second career. It emerged gradually, as a personal space I created for myself, and one that kept expanding. Over time, working with colour, form, texture and material became one of the most natural ways for me to express what cannot always be put into words. Not having an academic background in art has never felt like a limitation. If anything, it has given me the freedom to experiment, move between materials, make mistakes and search for a visual language of my own.
I am not interested in perfection. I am drawn instead to the spaces where order meets chaos, smooth surfaces encounter raw textures, and control gives way to chance. Through colour, texture, layers and form, I try to give a visible presence to inner labyrinths, fragments of memory and pieces of identity. This tension has gradually become part of LATOT’s visual language.

Sometimes I think through colour and line on canvas; at other times, through the material and surface of a three-dimensional object. I do not see my paintings and objects as separate practices, but as different expressions of the same exploration. This is also how LATOT has evolved, along two interconnected paths: Wall Art and Decor Art.

Intellectual property and art may seem like two very different parts of my life. In one, I protect the value created through imagination; in the other, I give myself the freedom to create. Perhaps this is where the two worlds meet: in my belief that there is something deeply valuable about an idea finding a form of its own.

For me, art is not about explaining everything. Sometimes it is about creating space for what cannot be explained. I am fascinated by the fact that what I see in a work may be entirely different from what someone else sees. When viewers bring their own memories, emotions and stories into a piece, it begins to acquire meanings beyond the ones with which it was created.
LATOT was born from this idea.

It is my personal space to keep making, experimenting, making mistakes, discovering materials and, along the way, discovering more of myself.

Here, I invite you not simply to look, but to taste the colours, feel the textures and take in the quiet geometry with your mind.
